What is silk cuts?

Silk Cut is a brand of cigarettes that was introduced in the UK in 1964 by J. W. Thompson. The brand's name was inspired by the luxurious and high-quality material, silk. Silk Cut quickly gained popularity among smokers because of its low tar and nicotine content and smooth taste. It became the best-selling brand of cigarettes in the UK in the 1970s.

Silk Cut cigarettes are known for their distinctive white packaging with a purple band running along the middle and the logo of a stylized scissors. The packaging was designed by artist John Benson.

In recent years, Silk Cut has introduced new variants such as Silk Cut Purple (Ultra), Silk Cut Silver (Smooth), and Silk Cut Blue (OC). However, the brand is facing declining sales due to increasing awareness of the health risks associated with smoking and government regulations on tobacco advertising and packaging.
